How Good Is the Porto Responsive WordPress and WooCommerce Theme?

WordPress has been the most popular Content Management System (CMS) for years – and for a very good reason. The platform was originally created to address the needs of bloggers but it quickly evolved into a powerful platform that’s used for all types of website, no matter the size. More and more people are turning to WordPress as it not only accommodates plugins and widgets, it also adds functionality and aesthetic value.

Nowadays, blindly populating your site with text or using random images won’t help you gain traffic. Pros and Cons

Like any other commercial product, premium themes like Porto undergo intense debates regarding pricing. Some people claim that these themes are an unfair means of monetizing an open source project, while others hold the view that paid themes are web solutions that couldn’t be provided without funding. Following are the advantages and disadvantages of purchasing premium WordPress themes:

Pros
  • Most paid themes come with top-class customer support, a feature that’s often missing in free themes
  • Premium themes are often more reliable than the free ones as they are updated regularly and come with extended or lifetime support, including proper documentation
  • Premium themes have lots of unique features that are otherwise absent in free ones
  • Paid themes usually pay close attention to details, with better customization settings and tools that could even help you site rank higher in search engines
  • Premium themes typically come packed with the latest premium WordPress plugins and tools that can significantly speed up your site’s development process
  • Paid themes generally come with multiple layout options to suit any type of website
  • Unlike the free themes, paid ones have unique styles that can help give your site a one-of-a-kind appearance
Cons
  • Some premium themes can sometimes be mere commercial entities that may or may not be compliant to the standard terms of licensing, unlike the free themes that are added to WordPress’ official repository and undergo a review process
  • Spending money on a theme may not suit everyone’s purpose, particularly those who are just looking to build a simple website or blog
  • Sometimes, paid themes come loaded with features that may not be necessary to some users

Final Verdict

The Porto Responsive WordPress and WooCommerce Theme is an impressive premium theme that’s definitely worth every penny. It has a fully responsive and retina-ready display that looks stunning, no matter what device you’re using. Using the theme for one of my websites was a fulfilling experience, as I was able to build it the way I wanted it to be, without touching a single line of complex code. I didn’t even have to hire a professional to create my website because this theme makes you feel like an instant pro! With the integrated theme admin panel, I was able to tweak every aspect of the theme, from the header style down to the colors.

Support is also impressive, with an average response time of 2 hours. The folks at SmartWave Co. were quick to answer my queries and were able to help me in a professional manner. It’s pretty clear that support is their top priority and they’re ready to give answers to questions at any given time. It’s a no-nonsense premium theme that comes with just the right features and options, and at a very affordable price too! Hi, I totally agree that Porto is the best theme for WP, we adore it and use it for so many client’s sites …..

BUT, when you said “Porto is a super-fast WordPress theme that’s optimized to get a solid 5-star rating on any speed testing tool” well …. I don’t agree, we’re an agency and have made lots of sites with porto, but performance and optimization is a hard part with this template.

Insights give us for an empty just installed porto demo site a 55 for mobile, and 66 in PC. GTMetrix similar results, and well, pingdom better results coz we use very optimised enterprise level owned servers.

Anyway, with some some tweaks anyone can get very fast and optimizations.

Thanks for your article anyway ! good one 🙂
